Northern White Cedar – thuja occidentalis
White Cedar for Design
This Northern White Cedar has the same properties as Atlantic White Cedar. Builders can rely on its resistance to insects, rot, decay and, of course, time. With time, it gains the silvery gray patina that white cedar is known for.
Known as Arborvitae (Tree of Life)
Natives used it for canoes and medicine for thousands of years so it has history behind it.
Versatile for custom milling
Architect Robert Gross, AIA, uses it whenever possible in Bergen County, New Jersey. He loves its color palette range and adaptability for interior or exterior applications.
